Consumer Claims

The claims period for consumers (individual purchasers) closed on September 23, 2021, and the Claims Administrator processed all the consumer claims by May 16, 2022.

The cheques for the approved consumer payments have been sent via regular ground mail on August 24, 2022.

Important: Requests to replace uncashed cheques must have been received by March 1, 2023. Requests received after March 1, 2023 will not be processed.

Volume Licensee Claims

Volume Licensee Purchasers who bought PC Versions of Microsoft MS-DOS, Windows, Office Word, Works, and/or Excel from Microsoft through a volume license program (such as the Open, Select, and Enterprise Agreement programs) between 1998 and 2010 for use in Canada had until October 23, 2021 to submit a claim. The Claims Administrator processed all the Volume Licensee claims by May 16, 2022.

The vouchers for the approved Volume Licensee claims were issued via email on August 23, 2022. Volume Licensee Voucher amounts will be redeemable by using the unique and secure link provided in same email. For more information about Volume Licensee Vouchers and how to redeem, click here.

Education Voucher Program

A portion of the remaining settlement funds are being made available to K-12 schools and post-secondary institutions to support students across Canada with access to new computer hardware, software, and related training.
